Dear Parents and Students:

 

In placing the 2009-2010 Parent Student Handbook online, I would like to amend information concerning the sections cited below.  Please make the necessary adjustments to your copy of the handbook. The amended information is BOLDED. The information should read as follows:

 

 

3.8                        CONSEQUENCES FOR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR 

The following outlines the consequences for inappropriate behavior for all students.  It is a system that will be in effect to communicate between home and school regarding unacceptable behavior and conduct violations.  Unlike academic deficiencies, conduct referrals accumulate over the entire school year, not just a quarter.

• A Notice of Concern will be used as a warning and sent home for parents to sign and return.

• FIRST Infraction:  A Conduct referral is issued; a copy is sent home for parents to sign and return; phone call from teacher/administration and an automatic detention issued.

• SECOND Infraction:   A Conduct referral is issue; a copy is sent home for parents to sign and return; a conference with Dean of Discipline, Guidance, and an after school detention.

• THIRD Infraction:  A Conduct referral is issued; a copy is sent home for parents to sign and return; a conference with the principal, an automatic detention and in-school conference with parents.

• FOURTH Infraction:   A Conduct referral is issued; a copy is sent home for parents to sign and return; a detention and Parent/Administration conference is held; student is placed on Disciplinary Probation.

If a Conduct Referral is not returned signed by the parents on the morning following its issuance, the student will be sent to the office to call his/her parent.

5.4                   Student Injuries
Should a student be injured on school property, the injury will be reported to the following:

1.      Maria Perez Pelaez at Arthur J. Gallagher
2.      Jeff O’Connor at Gallagher Bassett
3.     To the Student Accident Insurance Carrier
