Media Center

The Media Center, is an active area of our learning.

It's program is an integral part of the school curriculum and at all grade levels the librarian works closely with the students.  All students from Pre - K through grade 8 have scheduled library classes.

Not only do the students learn age appropriate library skills, but also at grades Pre - K through grade 4 there are read aloud sessions. Reading aloud is as enjoyable as it is important, benefiting the listener by encouraging reading, vocabulary development, and listening skills, all while invoking the imagination.

Grades 6 through 8 are team taught at specific times of the year by the media specialist and the computer science teacher. This class is devoted to helping students use technology to access information in addition to using traditional resources.

Books, audiovisual materials, computers, magazines, audiovisual equipment, and research materials are available to students and teachers throughout the day. The Media Center is a welcoming place where students can always find help and encouragement when seeking answers for any questions they may have.

One great aspect of the media center is the Accelerated Reader.
