Parish Religious Education Program

PREP

Our Religious Education Program is available to parish students who are attending non-Catholic schools and are in grades 1 - 7. It is an opportunity for them to enhance their knowledge of Scripture and help them prepare to receive the Sacraments of Penance, Eucharist and, eventually, Confirmation.

Classes meet on Sunday Mornings

 in St. Vincent Ferrer School.

 See Calendar for specific dates

First and Second Grade Classes are designed for students who are preparing to receive their First Holy Communion. This is a two-year program which all students must attend in order to receive the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist. In addition to the textbook studies, the students will also make visits to the church, learn the meaning of the various parts of the Mass, and grow to understand the importance of having Christ in their lives.

Grades Three to Seven continue to develop the children’s knowledge of Christ’s Church. The students will study the bible, liturgy, church traditions, saints, sacraments and how to continue to serve the Lord daily in their lives.

It is important that parents, those directly responsible for their children’s religious welfare, take an active role in their child’s Catholic education by helping them with their schoolwork, taking them to Mass on Sunday and making them aware of their Christian surroundings. By their example, adults can make a positive and meaningful influence in their child’s spiritual growth towards Jesus and His Church.
